The China Project's atmospheric research is committed to building observationally validated, fundamental research on the physical and chemical dimensions of China’s atmospheric environment, from urban to global scales.
It includes (click for details):
- Model-based research of atmospheric transport and chemistry;
- Surface and satellite observations of air pollutants and greenhouse gases; and
- Bottom-up emission estimation and uncertainty analysis.
It is also a core component of a Project-wide interdisciplinary framework being applied to evaluation of national greenhouse gas and pollution control policies.
