APPLY for a POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW or VISITING RESEARCHER Position for Academic Year 2021-22
Early Application Deadline: March 15, 2021
Every year the Harvard-China Project on Energy, Economy and Environment, an interdisciplinary program based at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, appoints a number of visiting researchers from other universities and several postdoctoral fellows. Visiting researchers range from Ph.D. students (called “fellows” at Harvard) to junior and tenured faculty members (“visiting scholars”). Postdoctoral fellows must have received their Ph.D. degree by the time of their appointment; we will currently only consider postdoc applicants who have secured external funding as our internally funded positions are filled. We encourage those who have strong academic and research records related to our current research areas to apply for these opportunities. Visiting researchers and new postdocs will join the Harvard-China Project during the academic year of 2021-2022 (typically between August 2021 and August 2022, although visits that fall outside of the academic year would also be considered). Note that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and related operational research constraints at Harvard, these opportunities may be more limited than in the past and the dates are subject to change. Please also note that due to the geographical focus of our research, Chinese language skills are strongly preferred, but not strictly required.
Please fill out the application form here or below, and provide the materials in English only.
Should you encounter any issues with the application form, please email the following to firstname.lastname@example.org and please use "Visiting Researcher Application" as the subject line:
1) A one-page cover letter (in PDF or Word);
2) A curriculum vitae (in PDF or Word);
3) Contact information for three references; and
4) A brief 1-page research proposal (in PDF or Word).
Please also indicate in the email which position you are applying for (Visiting Ph.D. Student, Postdoctoral Fellow, Visiting Scholar), and whether you are anticipating any support from your home institution, China Scholarship Council, or other sources of funding for your visit.
All application materials should be in English and should be contained within one email.
The application deadline is March 15, 2021, with decisions communicated by late March 2021.
