Applications Open for Visiting Researchers and Postdoctoral Fellows

Every year the Harvard-China Project, an interdisciplinary program based at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, appoints a number of visiting researchers from other universities and several postdoctoral fellows with strong academic and research records related to our current research areas. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis through January 31, 2027.

The Harvard-China Project is now accepting applications for Visiting Researchers and Postdoctoral Fellows. Visiting researchers range from Ph.D. students (called “fellows” at Harvard), to junior and tenured faculty members on leave from a scholarly post elsewhere (“visiting scholars”). Postdoctoral fellows must have received their Ph.D. degree by the time of their appointment; we will currently only consider postdoc applicants who have secured external funding as our internally funded positions are filled. We encourage those who have strong academic and research records related to our current research areas to apply for these opportunities.

Visits will typically take place between August 2027 and August 2028, although visits outside the academic year will also be considered. There may also be an opportunity to join us beginning in Spring 2027.

Applicants from all geographic regions are welcome to apply, with some advantage for applicants with research experience in middle-income countries such as China, India, and those of Southeast Asia.
