Date:

Thursday, January 16, 2014, 3:30pm to 4:45pm

Location:

Abstract: China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) authorized seven provinces and municipalities to experiment with emission trading in an effort to control CO2 emissions and achieve their respective CO2 intensity targets (CO2/GDP). The results of the experiments are expected to inform the design and implementation of a national CO2 emission trading program in 2016 or 2017. The speaker will provide an overview of the pilots, their progress, and the opportunities and challenges they've encountered.
