Chen's current research focuses primarily on environmental governance in China. She draws on insights from environmental politics and employs methodologies ranging from experimental methods to machine learning to analyze the effects and incentive of carbon markets in China. She holds double MPhil degrees from Fudan University and Free University of Brussels.
